I bought this garden shovel for my granddaughter (age 6) as she likes to garden with me. It is an Easter gift, so haven't given it to her, but I know she will love it. It will last until she is a "big girl", as it is very sturdy. So proud of it!!!
The shovel was a gift for my 50 plus daughter who constantly borrowed mine. She is a gardener and finds the small shovel perfect for creating a "hole" in which to place many plants.
This shovel is a great step up from the age 3-5 garden tools that we had previously. The quality is great, as it is made of wood and metal. It is taller and just the right height for my 6 year old, and I am sure he will be able to use it comfortably for a few more years. We also use it at the beach!
I ordered this as part of the garden tools set for my grandson who was out shoveling compost and planting potatoes with us this weekend! He always wants to help and having his own real tool was fun and was a way for us to respect his efforts and let him really contribute to the project!
We gave this shovel to our grandson. He saw it at his friend's house and fell in love with it. He is 5 years old and loves to dig. This shovel is just the right size for him and the price was very reasonable. [...]
I bought two of these real shovels for my three kids, aged 4, 7, and 10. I like the steel head and sturdy wooden handle of appropriate length. The bummer was that during the first day of use my ten-year old bent the steel shovel part back slightly, just down from where it connects to handle. I straightened it out, but was disappointed the steel wasn't stronger.
